This week’s poster is for a new documentary film ‘Coming Home to the Subdued Stringband Jamboree‘, by Tom Martino.
This musical documentary film is about the annual Bellingham festival, the Subdued Stringband Jamboree. Since 2001, a talented group of musicians and circus performers gather from near and far to celebrate in a unique expression of community and humanity. Every summer participants are invited to experience variety of activities and workshops for adults and kids, or just camp out and enjoy the music and dancing. I recently had the unique opportunity to attend a preview screening for an early cut of the film and found myself startled by the emotional power of this piece. I can’t wait to see the final edit and may even have to check out the jamboree for myself. Check out the trailer.
